Lens adaptor Canon FD to EF (EOS) ?
I purchased an old style Canon FD 55mm 1:1.8 lense but soon realised that it will not fit on my new Canon 550d (yes, I am new to this). Is there an adaptor I can buy online that will allow this lense to fit? Even If I don’t have any electronic function in the lense. Thank you 
Yes, FD to EF adapters are fairly easy to find. You should be able to find one on eBay or Amazon for a reasonable price.
However, if you are not comfortable with operating your camera in manual mode and selecting the aperture and shutter speed yourself, I would suggest you either return the lens to the seller or resell it. Using lenses with an adapter is a lot of hassle–like Caoedhen already mentioned, some adapters make it impossible to focus to infinity, and they all change the apparent focal length of the lens.
If you ask me, though, the biggest problem with using an adapter is that many modern cameras’ built-in light meters simply do not work with adapters. You would need to have an external light meter to be able to set the exposure correctly. If you buy an EF lens, you will not need to worry about that problem.
