The Samsung CLX-3175FN printer with Samsung 3175FN cartridge, is an all-in-one machine but smaller compared to its rivals. It measures 415 mm (W) x 342 mm (H) x 373 mm (D) and weighs a little heavier than 15 kg. Working as a printer, it’s fast enough to churn out 16 monochrome and 4 color pages in a minute. Such performance is based on using A4 size sheets, but may still vary depending on the computer’s system and content of the document. An optical resolution of up to 2400 x 600 dots per inch is used for clear images and crisp texts. There’s support for manual duplex, and the language used is SPL-C.
To help catch up with your day-to-day output requirements, there’s the 150-sheet input cassette tray and 80-sheet (face down) output capacity. Media sizes it can work on are those from as little as 76 mm x 160 mm to as large as 216 mm x 356 mm. Media types supported are regular paper, glossy, recycled, letterhead, punched, card, labels, envelopes and transparencies. Monthly duty cycle is listed at 20000 pages.
When you purchase the machine, it already comes with starter toner cartridges in black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The black cartridge can yield as much as 1000 prints, while the rest can yield up to 700 prints each. The toner cartridges remain in place while printing, thanks to the unique design of this machine, so noise can be reduced while operating.
Working as a flatbed scanner, it uses a 1200 x 1200 dpi optical resolution. But this may be enhanced to suit your needs to as high as 4800 x 4800 dpi. For your convenience, there are a few scanning features available. They include scanning directly to a computer in the network, a folder, an application and a USB device hooked up to the machine.
It’s capable of doing both color and monochrome copies. It takes less than 45 seconds for the first color copy to be out, while that’s 18 seconds for a monochrome one. Using A4 media sizes, it can dish out as much as 4 color and 16 monochrome copies per minute. You may reduce the document to 25 percent and enlarge it to 400 percent. Being a fax machine, it’s ITU-T G3 compatible. For color documents, it uses a resolution of 200 x 200 dpi, while it uses 300 x 300 dpi for monochrome ones. Data transmission speed is up to 33.6 Kbps, and there’s an available 2MB memory.
The Samsung CLX-3175FN printer with 3175FN cartridges, is hooked up to a computer or a network via the hi-speed USB 2.0 and Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX interfaces. The fitted USB port allows you to print directly from a smartphone, digital camera or USB flash drive without using a computer, but with using Samsung compatible toner. Likewise, you may also send a scanned document directly to a plugged-in USB-enabled device to use toner refill.
