COILGUN HELP…disasembling disposable camera for capacitor there is a third bit of metal coming from flash…?
i am trying to remove the flash part of the disposable camera so i can attach a coil there…the only problem is that aside from there being a wire going into the flash tube and a wire coming from the other side of the flash tube, there is a third *wire* (its actually more of a flat piece of metal) going inside the flash box. the piece of metal goes back to this little black box on the other side of the circuit board. can anyone tell me what that third bit of metal is and if i need to solder it onto the coil somewhere or just leave it unattached when i take off the flash?

That picture is horrible. The focus is all wrong and I can’t see anything. My first guess is that’s it’s just a ground wire for safety, but a better picture would result in a better answer.
