You may choose not to add this feature if you think you will be mainly using your iPad in places that have Wi-Fi connectivity.
AirPlay is a feature that allows you to stream things from your iPad to your HDTV or some speakers. All you have to do when you find a video on your iPad that you’d rather watch on a separate device, you only need to tap the AirPlay icon on your iPad. The one catch is that for AirPlay to work, you also have to buy Apple TV, a separate device that costs about $100. Apple TV also lets you stream content from your iPhone or iPod Touch devices to your HDTV. If you like to watch YouTube videos, for example, you can load them on your iPad and then watch them on a larger screen.
If you have been thinking about buying an Apple iPad 2, you should think of it as a luxury item and not a necessity. There isn’t anything at all wrong with buying something because you find it fun or cool; just make sure you don’t expect it to replace your notebook computer because it isn’t cut out for that. Most smartphones available these days can do almost everything an iPad can do so you don’t need to purchase it for its unique capabilities. At the same time, it’s generally more pleasurable to browse the web or watch videos on the iPad’s high resolution screen than on the much smaller one on your phone. Similarly, the Multi-Touch on your iPad is a lot more fun to play with and use than the regular touchpad you’ll find on a laptop or notebook computer.
Before getting an iPad, you should consider what you’ll be using it for and whether or not it’s worth the investment. A lot of people love their iPads, and usually those that are disappointed had expectations that it would do things it wasn’t really designed to do.
