i bought canon g11, for my landscape photography as the guy said its best for travelling light. (canon 450d?
i was gonna buy the Canon Rebel sxi, but the guy said if i want to travel light then go for the canon g11, but now ive got home and tryed it i think im regretting not bying my first slr…what do you think??
Most photographers have a point and shoot camera e.g. g11, for just something to have when you’re hanging with friends and not really needing a SLR. We don’t always enjoy carrying those things around.
But a point and shoot won’t ever give you the same control as a SLR. And you only have one lens with a P&S. So if you want to get into more advanced photography you’ll have to get a SLR. The Rebel XSi is a great one, but understand it does take lots of practice to get the right shot everytime. Plus it’s a lot of money, your not just buying a camera > you need usually 3 lenses, filters, bags, tripod, software, straps. etc. But if money’s not a problem then forget that last part. But always first understand what you really want from a camera, and then go from there.
