Why does my Mitsubishi Challenger 4wd light flash in 2wd?
I have a Mitsubishi Challenger 2003 model, when I drive it in 2wd the 4wd light on the dash flashes. If I am going slowly and put the clutch in and give it a few revs it goes out, but when I continue on it starts flashing again. 4wd works fine and the light illuminates properly when its engaged. Hope you guys can help me.
You may have one or two of your 4 wheel drive relay switches busted. Have it checked out just to be sure. I have the same problems with my 02 Montero Ltd. and a couple of the 4wd relay switches were damaged. The truck remained drivable on 2 or 4 wheel drive mode but there was no guarantee that all 4 wheels were engaged. Better be safe than sorry specially if you live in snowy region or just love to go 4 wheeling.
