Can this softbox work with my External Flash?

I have a Nikon D200, and a cheap Bower External flash, that I can get off my camera with a Sync Cord. I currently have a mini softbox that was $8.00, and is only 4×4 inches big, and doesn’t really do much diffusing.
Would the softbox above work? And if not, Do you guys know of any other octo-softboxes that would work, for around the same price (less than $50) ? Thanks!
