It depends on what you are looking for. The ring light will give a very even lighting, to the point that it may “flatten” the image. The lighting is starkly uniform. The twin light gives two point sources, so there is some flash modeling that will leave some of the dimensionality of the subject in the image. You can probably find samples somewhere. Try searching Flickr for “macro + ringlight.” Maybe the Canon site has some samples, too.
