what makes a spirit level a good one ? what do you look for when looking for the best ones ?
I dont need one for any particular function, it is an all purpose question for determaining what is the best spirit level and why.
what makes it so much better than the others and what would you like to see from a spirit level that may not be offered today.
I will never use anything but a Stabila, but even with them, I check it before I buy it. Set it on a horizontal surface and read the bubble. Flip it end for end and check it again. Then rotate it, check it, and flip it end for end again, checking again. All 4 readings should be the same. Then check the plumb vials in the same way against a column or wall.
The reasons I use Stabila are durability and warranty. They hold up to standard jobsite abuse like no other level. If they ever do go out of whack, they will be repaired or replaced free of charge. They’re expensive, but worth it. Hope this helps.
