Lighting for Macro Photography ?
What lighting should i use for macro photography, I currently just use a flashgun and use the built in reflector to bounce the flash down on the subject, but i don’t think this is a very effective way of doing it.
What lighting should i use ?
I was considering a Macro LED Ring Flash, but i don’t know if they’re quite bright enough, plus they create a bit of a cold effect, i think, i’m not sure though.
Proper Macro ring flashes are a bit to costly for me. What would a wireless flashgun be like with a small soft-box / diffuser on it.
What are your thoughts, what do you think is the best lighting source to use for macro photography of insects.
Thanks
Sam
I don’t know about the ring flashes because I haven’t used one before. But I just use a mini-softbox on my speed light and sync cord, that way I can get directional light and accentuate textures by side-lighting.
